The SERMA site at Bourget-du-Lac is positioned as a reference center for electrical testing and battery analysis, relying on over 15 years of expertise in this field.
The activity is led by Pascal Gouerec, Battery Business Director at SERMA Technologies, who emphasizes:
“Our ambition is to further strengthen the Analysis division and provide precise solutions for every client need, whether in R&D, quality control, or expertise involving faulty batteries.”
Dive into our battery expertise
The site’s main activity focuses on construction and failure analysis as well as electrical testing of batteries of all types (Li-ion, Ni-based, Pb-acid, LiSOCl2, etc.). Studies are conducted to understand the degradation mechanisms of cells and modules composing batteries, identify the causes of failures, and test battery performance under very specific conditions.
Our services include:
- Comparative analyses (benchmark) and consulting: determine the most suitable battery technology or reference for a given application.
- R&D: analyze and characterize developing cells.
- Quality control: verify compliance, performance, and the absence of defects in cells and associated electronic boards.
- Design review and Bill of Materials (BOM): cell and module construction analysis.
- Post-incident expertise: investigations of incidents such as fires or performance issues, in coordination with our BMS experts.
